Prop 2: Technology (Tech) levy
Both Levies are Renewals, Not Increases
Approving these levies will NOT raise your taxes because property owners in the district are already paying these taxes with their property taxes. This request to voters is to continue paying the tax for the next 4 years (EP&O) and 6 years (Tech). As a matter of fact, your overall tax rate is projected to decrease over the next four years due to growth in residential housing and businesses that will help share the cost.
16% of the District’s Budget
The EP&O provides funding for 16% of Enumclaw School District’s budget. State and federal funds do not fully cover the actual cost of operating a school district in Washington State. Levy dollars are needed to bridge the gap in funding.
Your Tax Dollars Stay Local
School district levies keeps your tax dollars in your community. Your tax dollars are used to educate children, employ staff, and prepare students for a successful future, right here where you live.
If These Levies Fail…
If these levies fail, jobs will be lost, services will be cut, afterschool programs will be cancelled and safety will be compromised. These are not threats, this is the real world of not having enough money to pay for our school district to operate. Other school districts that have not passed their local levies, such as Yelm School District, have had to make significant cuts – all of which have impacted student learning immensely.
